The Rubrics Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to follow the APA style (6th edition 2010) strictly while preparing the manuscripts. Download quick guide or visit this page. Authors are also requested to include the following in the format of their manuscripts:

  • An abstract of the article of about 150-200 words with keywords 3-5.
  • Authors are advised to prepare the text of the manuscript with appropriate headings, sub headings and illustrations and that should be well incorporated within the main text of the manuscript.
  • All figures, images, tables of the manuscript should be embedded into the original text only.
  • There is no word-limit for articles. But ideally those should be around 4000 words, including references.
  • Authors can submit manuscripts in English, Hindi and Marathi. For formatting details please visit Call for Papers page.
  • Authors must ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
  • For web references, the full URL should be given.

The order of the content must be as per the following sequence: 

  1. Title page with the authors name, email, contact number and institutional details
  2. Abstract (150-200 words) and Keywords (3-5)
  3. Main body of the text (Min. 2500 words & Max. 7000 words)
  4. End note (if needed/don’t mention footnote towards the end)
  5. References - APA Style
  6. Bio note of author(s) in 50 words (online profile link is preferred)

Indexing

The Rubrics Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies is indexed in Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources.

Any manuscript, or substantial part of it, submitted to The Rubrics (ISSN 2454-1974) must not be under consideration by any other journal. In general, manuscript should not have been already published in any other journal or book. Authors are required to ensure that no material submitted as part of a manuscript infringes existing copyrights. The Rubrics is very keen on quality research and publication ethics, in order to maintain journal standards we have framed certain policies.

Peer Review Policy
A submitted manuscript is screened for basic research standards and then processed for blind peer review. Reviewers focus on the soundness of research question, hypothesis, literature review, theory, research methodology, (operationalization, sampling strategy, data analysis) and research results.  Two external referees from precisely relevant disciplines review the manuscript and submit the report to the chief editor for decision on the manuscript. At every stage, an author would be communicated of the status of his/her manuscript along with the views and recommendations of the reviewers, if any. The editors reserve the right to delete and/or alter the title/content or any part of an manuscript as they deem it fit for publication without intimating to the author(s).

Open Access Statement
The Rubrics offers free online open access to its published research articles and other allied contents to those who are involved in research, teaching and study to promote wide dissemination of knowledge and ideas than the traditional print journals. The full-text of the manuscripts can be downloaded, printed, circulated, shared, quoted and cited without any restrictions or prior permissions, which implies that the article published in the open access online journal would be read across the world. Copyright of the manuscripts published in The Rubrics is retained by the author and articles cannot be republished in any form without the consent of the respective author(s).

Legal Notice
The authors bear full responsibility for their writing which contrary to the law or violate the intellectual property rights or any rights of others.

Plagiarism Policy
In the event of plagiarism, author(s) alone is / are liable to legal actions for their misdeeds. The Rubrics Journal can never be held responsible for the misdeeds of an author. The Rubrics never endorses plagiarism and condemns the same as an unethical practice.

Professional Standards
The Rubrics adheres to the OASPA Professional Code of Conduct and adopts the COPE guidelines on publication ethics to ensure a high standard in Open Access publishing. The most important rules are the following:
Authors of The Rubrics must confirm:

  • Submitted manuscripts must be the original work of the author(s).
  • Only unpublished manuscripts should be submitted.
  • It is unethical to submit a manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.
  • Any conflict of interest must be clearly stated.
  • Acknowledge the sources of data used in the development of the manuscript.
  • All errors discovered in the manuscript after submission must be swiftly communicated to the Editor.
